Kate Spade, the noted fashionwear and accessories designer is sadly no more. She chose to kill herself in an apparent effort to end her battle with depression.
Katherine Brosnahan, as she was known before marrying husband Andy Spade in 1994, was a high-end fashion designer and created and developed her own line of purses and accessories back in 1993.
Her fashion empire turned into one of the most recognizable brands of the fashion world due to her unique, quirky and highly desirable designs. Kate Spade bags especially enjoyed being one of the most desirable items in any woman’s closet.

She then ventured into fashionwear and created her own line.
Expanding her accessories line into fashionwear, Kate Spade remained true to her design roots and kept uniqueness and bold colors the centrepiece to all her designs. And enjoyed great success.
Though she sold her company to Neiman Marcus in 2006, it still bore her name and remained loyal to her sense of fashion and design.

The news of Kate Spade's death comes as a sickening shock.
And it further proves that depression doesn't discriminate. No matter how rich, successful, wealthy, beautiful, smart or intelligent you are, you could still be battling depression and it is a serious mental illness.
Kate Spade reportedly left a note for her husband and their 13-year old daughter. The family said in a statement, "We are all devastated by today’s tragedy. We loved Kate dearly and will miss her terribly. We would ask that our privacy be respected as we grieve during this very difficult time.”
